2014 Beaulieu Vineyard,
BV Tapestry Reserve Red Wine,
TASTING NOTESOur 2014 Tapestry reflects the 2014-growing season with its expressive, powerful aromas and flavors, along with a bold structure and density. This is a wine that shows the artistry of blending five Bordeaux-heritage grape varieties, which contributed layer-upon-layer of flavor complexity. Cabernet Sauvignon gave the wine its generous core of juicy black currant, dark cherry and cassis, while the Merlot brought through a bright, ripe glazed red fruit character which helped to tame the tannins and add plushness and texture on the mouthfeel. Malbec contributed deep plum and briary blackberry notes, while the Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot completed the blend with nuances of violet, dried herbs and graphite.
95 POINTS - JAMES SUCKLING"Complex aromas of blackcurrants, tobacco and stones. Some oyster shell. Medium to full body, very fine tannins and a polished, refined, textured finish. A wine that harkens back to its traditions. Drink now.”– James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, May 2017.
