Wow! "Absolutely Delicious!"

Chalk Hill Estate Red 2007

Robert Parker

"Perhaps the finest Estate Red to date is the 2007. Its dense ruby/purple hue is followed by blackberry, cassis, cedar, and licorice characteristics, supple tannins, a more accessible personality, full body, and admirable purity, texture, and length. Drink this beauty over the next 2-3 decades." (02/10)

95 points from Wine Enthusiast Magazine: "Made in the modern style, this Cabernet-based Bordeaux-style blend was aged in mostly new French oak for 20 months, so it shows plenty of toasty, oaky notes. It's softly delicious, with tiers of raspberry, cherry, red currant, milk chocolate, violet and dried herb flavors, wrapped into the smoothest possible tannins. An extraordinarily beautiful wine for drinking now and the next 4-5 years." (Nov. 2010)

93 points Wine Spectator: "Bold, rich, graceful and full-bodied, offering a wonderful beam of ripe blackberry, currant and wild berry, with touches of spice and tobacco leaf. Full-bodied, firming on the finish, where the flavors gain depth and maintain their persistence. Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Carmenère. Drink now through 2017." (09/10)

Brought to our attention by "Big Mickey T" of Atlanta, this is"one of the best California premium blends we've tasted in the past year."

Treasure Hunter Sale Continues!

Treasure Hunter

(Do you feel lucky?  From our experience w/ these tremendous wines at exceptional prices, we are confident in offering this newest line-up)

Each wine is a one-time offering from the maker and represents an extraordinary opportunity. We hunt down the treasures and you drink them.  "Every Treasure Hunter wine we sell goes through a pain-staking process of examination from our panel of nine called The De-Vine Nine. Made up of top sommeliers, winemakers and restaurateurs our panel is the best of the best and they pour through hundreds of wines before they allow a wine to go through.  All the Treasure Hunter wines are "negociant wines". That means we don't make these wines we buy them from other wine producers. One extra benefit of our wines is we don't blend these wines with cheaper lesser wines to expand our production. You only get the best native juice, 100%.

When wineries have excess supply we quickly go through our review process and if it passes the De-Vine Nine's examination, we buy it. Rather than bottle too much wine or try to lower their well deserved price point we liberate the wine and bring it to you under our Treasure Hunter label without hurting the wineries reputation and potentially threaten their price point. It is a win-win-win proposition. The wineries win because they don't have to make more wine than they can sell, we win because we get world-class wines for a bargain and the customer wins because they get to drink wines at a price that is 1/3-1/5 of the normal price.

The two "new" Napa Cabs 2007 Kraken & 2009 Powder Chest. These wines come from some very high-end vineyard sources and Hunter had to pay a premium to get these.

2007 Cabernet Sauvignon -Napa Valley "THE KRAKEN" Reg. $29.99

We are fortunate enough to acquire small lots of the best of the best. This wine is no exception coming from one of the most respected winemakers in all of Napa if not the world. Yeah, another '07 Cab from Napa. This wine is righteous. We named it after the great Leviathan of myth because it's a monster!

2009 Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa Valley "POWDER CHEST" Reg. $29.99

Boom! Chest bump and high five's all the way around. This is a flat out bad boy from the same producer as The Kraken. We couldn't believe our luck that we were able to acquire two lots from a Cabernet Ninja!

***********

2009 Red Blend - Dry Creek, Sonoma County "CARSON'S KEY" $24.99

This is a spectacular blend of Zin, Petite Sirah, Cabernet and Syrah. As big and juicy as a homemade cheeseburger this wine shows true Dry Creek expression with gobs of fruit and layers. I like it so much I named it after my daughter!

More stock of a recent favorite:

2009 Pinot Noir "The North Star" - Sonoma Valley - $24.99

Sonoma Valley is a special place that is also known as The Valley of the Moon. This romantic name comes from the fact that the sub-appellation is protected by two mountain ranges, the Mayacamas to the east and the Sonoma Mountains to the west. The result is a unique terroir that delivers some of the most expressive and beautiful Pinot Noir's in the worldThis is a big fella but retains elegance and balance throughout. Bing cherry, red raspberry, and dried rose petal aromas are complemented by flavors of dried cherries and allspice. Elegant tea-like tannins complement a long and sophisticated finish in this massive Sonoma Valley Pinot Noir. This wine comes from one of the Top 2 or 3 Pinot producers in The Valley. Normally would sell for $70 a bottle. The 07 was a 93 parker. - Compare to such high-priced Sonoma pinots like Merry Edwards, Martinelli, Rochioli & Patz and Hall - The Treasure Hunter is ½ the price"
