Château Beau-Site, Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois 2014
Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux, France Red Blend
About the Producer: Chateau Beau-Site is aptly named, as it is beautifully situated and looks down at the Gironde River. The estate is owned by Borie-Manoux, a top quality family owned wine negociant house, winery, and wine merchant group, currently in the hands of Philippe Casteja.
The 18th century cellar at the estate is one of the oldest in the Medoc and offers perfect conditions to age and mature wines. The 85 acre vineyard is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%), Cabernet Franc (7%) and Petit Verdot (3%) which is planted to gravel, clay and sand. The average age of the vines is 35 years old.
The wine of Beau-Site is full of power and temperament, a typical Saint-Estèphe with tannins allowing for aging this wine for some years. Chateau Beau-Site has been awarded many Gold Medals in the Concours General Agricole in Paris, and several silver awards by Decanter as well.
